Description:  "Awakening Self Awareness" - retreat in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh in Ferndale, MI.  Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh has said that “each thought, each action in the sunlight of awareness, becomes sacred.” In any moment, we can take refuge in this awareness. Mindfulness Presentation

Location:  WI Dells, Wi
Description:  "Mindfulness in our Personal & Professional Lives" - 3-hour workshop for Wisconsin Batterer's Treatment Providers Association conference.  Working in the domestic violence arena can be demanding and exhausting.  Without good navigation tools, the effects can take a toll physiologically, emotionally, and spiritually.  Mindfulness is a tool for navigating the effects of the work, and for nurturing awareness and balance in your life.

"Engaged Buddhism" Workshop

Location: Milwaukee, WI
Description:  A term coined by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, Engaged Buddhism refers to applying the insights from Buddhist teachings to our actions in the world.  This workshop will explore how we need not choose between being engaged in social change or working on spiritual growth...mindfulness practice is about the awareness of what is going on both within and around ourselves.  We will explore how “peace begins with me,” rooted in compassion, understanding & lovingkindness toward ourselves.  Further details forthcoming.
